Kazi Mahmudul Islam

Kazi Mahmudul Islam is a faculty at IUBAT. He is an accomplished professional with a robust background in sustainability, technology, and management. He holds an MBA from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and a BSc. from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, USA.

Throughout his career, Mahmud has held pivotal roles; including Technical Project Manager at Spire Energy Inc. in USA and Head of Maintenance at a leading MNC manufacturing industry of Bangladesh. Mahmud has also served as an Independent Director at Gazipur Paper Board Ltd., where he contributed to strategic decision-making and corporate governance. His expertise spans sustainability strategy, operational efficiency, and technological innovation.

Mahmud’s academic research reflects his deep commitment to advancing knowledge in sustainability, technology, and management. For his Bachelor of Science at Kansas State University, he undertook a thesis titled “Technology Evaluation for Environmental Risk Mitigation”, which focused on assessing and implementing technological solutions to minimize environmental risks.

During his Master of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, he further explored sustainability through his thesis, “Developing a World-Class Sustainable Manufacturing Framework: A Comparative Analysis between the USA and Bangladesh", where he analyzed and proposed sustainable manufacturing practices tailored to both developed and developing economies.

Kazi Mahmudul Islam's research interests span sustainable practices, technological innovation, environmental risk management, and the optimization of production processes. He also focuses on sustainable business management, climate policy, energy policy, and innovation, using a blend of quantitative and qualitative methods to address challenges in both developed and developing economies.
